SCREEN exhibits at Horizon Smart Factory 2026
SCREEN Graphic Solutions Co., Ltd. (SCREEN GA) will take part in Horizon Smart Factory 2026, to be hosted by Horizon Inc. at Horizon Innovation Park at Horizon’s headquarters in Takashima City, Japan.
SCREEN GA plans to showcase a wide range of solutions during the program for Japanese companies, to be held from October 28 (Wed) to 30 (Fri), and the program for international companies, to be held from November 4 (Wed) to 6 (Fri).
The event will focus on a theme of “Coexistence: the automated future,” with participating companies presenting solutions that utilize cutting-edge technologies such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs), robots and AI to automate and streamline entire production processes from printing and postpress to packaging and transportation. Participants will also demonstrate how inter-process transfers using autonomous mobile robots and integration with workflow systems can help realize next-generation smart factories where people and technology coexist.
For its part, SCREEN GA will use its EQUIOS workflow platform and a Horizon robot transfer system to connect its Truepress JET 520HD mono and Truepress JET S320 with Horizon postpress equipment. This configuration significantly improves automation of production processes, helping to reduce personnel requirements. The company will also demonstrate a solution for rapid production of high-resolution booklets of outstanding quality using printed rolls from a Truepress JET 560HDX and Horizon postpress finishing equipment. These demonstrations will allow attendees to see firsthand the type of solutions required to develop smart factories.
Automation solutions
SCREEN GA will present various solutions for automating the prepress and postpress processes required before and after printing. The company plans demonstrations featuring its Truepress JET 520HD mono high-speed monochrome roll-fed digital inkjet system and Truepress JET S320 sheet-fed inkjet system. Its solution for the prepress stage will focus on the automation of data processing using SCREEN’s EQUIOS workflow platform, while that for the postpress stage will showcase the automation of material transfer and finishing through integration with a robot transfer system from Horizon.
Additionally, SCREEN GA will demonstrate a solution for the production of paper folders that leverages the advantages offered by its Truepress JET S320 as a sheet-fed system as well as Horizon’s RD-N4055 rotary die-cut system and DAC Engineering’s Prenity inspection system, which provides comprehensive online detection. This configuration will enable SCREEN GA to present the entire process from printing to postpress and inspection as a single workflow while introducing solutions that help to maintain the balance between quality control and production efficiency.
Roll-fed postpress solutions
During the event, SCREEN GA will also be assisting Horizon with demonstrations of two systems that enable rapid, high-quality production of high-resolution booklets. One demonstration will feature hardcover binding using a section sewn binding line designed for digital printing from Smyth, while the other will showcase saddle-stitching of booklets using the iCE STITCHLINER Mark V.
In both cases, SCREEN GA will provide sheets and rolls preprinted on its Truepress JET 560HDX high-speed roll-fed digital inkjet press, which is known for its ability to quickly produce materials with exceptional image quality. Attendees are invited to examine the finished samples and see for themselves the superior quality achieved across the entire workflow, from printing through to binding and finishing.
