SCREEN Truepress JET 560HDX Wins EDP Award 2026 for Best Inkjet Commercial Printing System

The European Digital Press Association has awarded the Truepress JET 560HDX the EDP Award 2026 in the Commercial Printing category Best Web-fed Printer-LED-Toner-Inkjet-Hybrid <550mm web width.

Barcelona, Spain — At the EDP Awards ceremony held on 20 May 2026 at FESPA Barcelona, SCREEN was awarded the EDP Award 2026 in the Commercial Printing category (Web Width below 550mm) for the Truepress JET 560HDX. The award was accepted on behalf of SCREEN GP Europe B.V. by Business Development Director Juan Cano and SCREEN Graphic Solutions Executive Officer Yoshinari Otani.

The EDP Awards, organized annually by the European Digital Press Association and judged by independent experts from Europe’s 20 leading trade magazines, are widely regarded as the most rigorous and prestigious technical accolade in the digital printing industry. Entries are evaluated across seven criteria: innovation relevance, usability, productivity, quality and durability, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), sustainability and environmental impact, and price and overall value makes an EDP Award one of the most credible validations a press manufacturer can receive.

Inkjet for the Next Stage of Commercial Printing

The Truepress JET 560HDX, which received the award in the commercial printing category, is a flagship high-speed continuous-feed inkjet press that combines high-definition image quality, high productivity, and ease of operation to deliver new value to the printing industry.

This press also uses the latest iteration of SCREEN ink, Truepress Ink SC2, continuing to address one of the key challenges in high-speed inkjet—printing on offset coated paper. The high-density water-based ink enables the use of offset coated, inkjet-coated, or uncoated substrates.

In addition to delivering a level of quality comparable to conventional offset commercial printing, the press achieves high productivity through its capability to handle substrates up to 560 mm in width, a maximum printing speed of 150 meters per minute, and the adoption of newly developed drying and transport mechanisms, enabling it to serve as an alternative to offset printing in mainstream commercial applications.

This achievement has been recognized as a breakthrough advancement that elevates inkjet printing to a truly viable mass-production technology, leading to this award.

The EDP Award results carry broad significance beyond industry recognition. Findings from the EDP judging process are published in the EDP Awards Technical Report and distributed across the association’s 20 member publications, reaching over half a million readers across Europe. For print businesses evaluating capital investment in new press technology, independent technical assessment of this kind provides the kind of third-party validation that carries weight at board level and in procurement decisions.

Juan Cano, Business Development Director, commented on the significance of the decision, saying, “The Truepress JET 560HDX receiving the EDP Award reflects the result of extensive development work by the entire SCREEN engineering team. This digital inkjet press designed to redefine commercial inkjet production across speed, quality, and workflow agility. For that work to be independently assessed and recognised by Europe’s leading print industry experts is a result we are extremely proud of and a strong signal for the potential of the latest iteration of Truepress JET technology in an evolving commercial printing sector.”
